Various projects were designed and project managed in collaboration with the school community, including courtyards, pathways, play areas, vegetable gardens and planting. In 2006 a joint project funded in partnership with the Christchurch City Council involved construction of a very unique playground area. The intent was to allow for good public access along the stream boundary with linkage to an adjacent sports facility.
The design referenced the ecology of the nearby stream. Features included ‘Pukeko eggs’, ‘Eel’ shaped climbing frames, ‘reed’ poles, a large climbing net and indigenous planting.
